The UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final is headed to a penalty shootout after defending champions England and World Cup holders Spain finished 1-1 following extra time.

Spain took the lead in the 25th minute when Mariona Caldentey converted a cross from Ona Batlle. England equalized in the 57th, with Alessia Russo heading in a delivery from substitute Chloe Kelly, who once again made a major impact off the bench—her third straight game doing so in the knockout stages.

The final kicked off at 6pm local time (16:00 GMT) at St Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland.

England reached the final after a 2-1 extra-time victory over Italy in Tuesday’s semifinal. Spain booked their spot by edging Germany 1-0, thanks to a late extra-time goal from star midfielder Aitana Bonmatí.
